In 1995, we succumbed to the special allure that Maupin holds for so many people. We moved from the Seattle area to Juniper Flat with our four children (now five), and then to Maupin proper in 1999. With 5 kids and their 50 friends, our house by the high school was a local hub for many years, and often a beehive of activity. It’s a lifestyle we came to love, and one that’s not unlike running a lodge – or a river!
